Dyna Robotics has introduced Dyna-2, a world-action model designed for robot manipulation, which was pre-trained on over one million hours of egocentric human video. This extensive dataset, equivalent to approximately 170 years of continuous waking experience, aims to overcome the limitations of action-labelled data in robot learning. The model's architecture is based on a mixture of transformers, where video and action are tokenized separately and processed by distinct DiT layer stacks that attend to each other.

The training process utilizes flow matching, with a video loss and an action loss sharing a trunk as two separate marginal velocity fields. This approach enables the policy to remain reactive during inference, without generating or attending to predicted future video. The action transformer is deliberately shallower and joins the video stream early, which improves real-time latency without compromising performance. Key technical specifications of Dyna-2 include:
